INGREDIENTS:
- Bajra flakes – ½ cup (By Two Brothers)
- Oil/ Ghee – 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal – 1/2 tsp
- Peanuts – 6 to 8, broken
- Curry leaves – 1 stalk
- Green chilli – 1 to 2, chopped
- Onion – 1, medium, diced
- Salt – as per taste
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Water – 1/2 to 3/4 cup
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp, finely chopped
- Lemon – 1/2 or 1 tsp juice
- For garnishing: Freshly grated coconut (optional)
HOW TO MAKE:
Wash the Bajra Flakes in water and strain the water, make sure it's not soggy and keep it aside.
Heat oil/ ghee in a pan and add mustard seeds. Allow to crackle. Add cumin seeds. Allow to crackle. Add asafoetida, urad dal, peanuts, chopped green chillies and curry leaves. Saute until all the dals and nuts turn golden brown.
Add diced onions. Saute for 30 seconds.
Add salt and Saute until onions turn translucent.
Add turmeric powder. Saute for 30 seconds.
Add bajra flakes.
Mix well.
Sprinkle water little by little. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Turn off heat.
Add finely chopped coriander leaves, freshly grated coconut (optional), and lemon juice. Mix well.
