INGREDIENTS:
- 1 tbsp aliv seeds (garden cress seeds)
- ½ cup date paste (or 1/2 cup date powder)
- ½ cup dry coconut, grated or shredded
- 2 tsp ghee
- 1 tsp cardamom powder (optional)
HOW TO MAKE:
Heat ghee in a pan on medium heat.
Add aliv seeds and dry roast them for 2-3 minutes until they puff up slightly and release a nutty aroma. Stir continuously to avoid burning. Set aside.
In the same pan, add grated dry coconut and roast for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden and fragrant. Remove and set aside.
Add the date paste (or date powder) to the pan with 1 tablespoon of ghee. Stir continuously until it softens and blends into a smooth mixture (if using powder, it will form a paste-like consistency when heated).
Add the roasted aliv seeds, toasted coconut, and cardamom powder (if using). Mix well to combine.
Allow the mixture to cool slightly until it's easy to handle.
Take small portions and roll them into round ladoos using your palms.
