Ingredients
- ½ cup red lentils (masoor dal)
- ½ cup boiled chickpeas
- 1 cup chopped spinach (fresh)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small tomato, chopped
- 1 tbsp soaked moong dal
- 1 tsp ghee
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 2.5 cups water
How To Make
- Wash the lentils thoroughly.
- In a pot, heat ghee, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add onion & garlic, sauté till slightly golden.
- Add tomatoes, turmeric, and black pepper. Cook until tomatoes soften.
- Add lentils, moong dal, and water. Stir well.
- Let it simmer on medium heat for 15 minutes until the lentils soften.
- Add spinach, salt, and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add chickpeas, mix them in now.
